RDK PoE Module User Guide

Introduction

RDK PoE Module is a 802.3af-compliant Power Over Ethernet (PoE) HAT for D-Robotics RDK X5. By using this HAT and some proper 802.3af/at-compliant power sourcing equipments, it is possible to provide both network connection and power supply for your RDK board in only one Ethernet cable.

Features

  • Based on 40PIN GPIO interface for RDK X5 board
  • Supports Power over Ethernet (PoE), supports IEEE 802.3af/at PoE network standard
  • Adopts fully isolated Switch Mode Power Supply (SMPS) mode power
  • Onboard high-speed active cooling fan, and with metal heatsink, better heat dissipation

  • PoE-GPIO pin header: 5V 4.5A (MAX)
  • PoE-2P pin header: 12V 2A (MAX)
  • Network standards: Supports IEEE 802.3af/at PoE

Usage

Insert the PoE Module into the 40PIN pin of the RDK motherboard as shown in the figure below.

Installation

Heatsink installation, as shown in the figure below.
Please note whether the pins are properly connected during assembly.
