I'm struggling to get a basic ESPHome setup running. Anyone else have this issue?

I had a similar problem; turns out my board wasn't being flashed correctly because of a driver issue! Reinstalled the USB drivers and it worked like a charm. Maybe check that?

Speaking of exploring unknown territories, anyone else obsessed with Geoguessr Free ?

I'm also tinkering with ESPHome. Finding a solid "hello world" can be a bit like chasing your tail in the Google Snake – you know it exists, but getting a working one can be tricky. I've seen a few scattered around, but reliability is key. Hoping someone can share a tried and true example to save us all some time!

Yes, I ran into the same issue when I first started with ESPHome. The simplest “hello world” setup I found was using an ESP8266 with a basic LED blink configuration. Start with the ESPHome wizard, connect your board through USB, and let it generate the YAML file automatically. After that, you can add a simple GPIO output and blink effect to confirm everything is working correctly.

One thing I’d recommend is double-checking your Wi-Fi credentials and board type because most beginner errors happen there. Also, dont try to overcomplicate your first setup. I made that mistake while balancing coursework and even looking into PGCE assignment help service options at the same time. Keeping the project simple helped me learn much faster.
