I noticed that Tuesday mornings are consistently the "sweet spot." Most airlines, including Delta, release their big weekly sales on Monday nights, and by Tuesday, everyone is competing for the lowest price.
I managed to snag tickets for nearly $150 less just by waiting until Tuesday at 10:00 AM. Also, if you can, try to fly out on a Tuesday or Wednesday. Mid-week flights are almost always cheaper than weekend travel!
