Specialty restaurants cost extra, but they’re completely optional. I only booked one because I wanted to try something different. If you like variety, you’ll never go hungry. If you’re fine with classic cruise fare, everything you need is already included. I’ve never done a Carnival trip where I felt pressured to buy more food.
