This LCD can not support adjusting the brightness of the screen

Although the onboard ESP32 cannot control the backlight brightness
But you can use external PWM to control
First, solder the resistor as shown in the picture to the corresponding position at point 1.
Then you can connect your own PWM input model at 2 points to control the backlight brightness of the display.

SpotPearGuest1f5e5, thanks for that info! Those pads and the resistor are so tiny that I'm not sure I could successfully move it over without damaging something else. This should have been a built-in feature of the board that should have been able to control through the software just like we can on our smartphones, monitors, and everything else that has an LCD! This was a huge oversight it seems!!
I'll probably end up returning it if I can find another display that supports this basic feature!
