1. Could you please provide the hardware schematic for this module? It will be very helpful for our system integration and development.

2. Is it possible to output the FRSYNC (Frame Sync) signal through the MFP0 pin of the MAX9296 chip on this specific board design?

At the chip level, yes: the MAX9296A includes an internal frame-sync generator, and its FSYNC output can be assigned to any MFP/GPIO pin, including MFP0, through the FSYNC and GPIO configuration registers (please refer to the MAX9296A datasheet, "Frame Synchronization" and "GPIO" sections).

However, whether MFP0 is physically accessible on this specific board depends on the board design. Based on the published documentation, the module exposes only the two CSI FFC connectors, two FAKRA-Z connectors, the CFG DIP switch, and the 5V power input — no dedicated MFP/GPIO header is listed.

Could you also let us know your intended use of FRSYNC?

  • If the goal is to synchronize the two GMSL cameras, this can be achieved entirely through software: the MAX9296A FSYNC generator can transmit the frame-sync signal over the GMSL link (GPIO tunneling) directly to the serializer's MFP pin that drives the sensor's trigger input. No external MFP0 connection is required.
  • If you need FRSYNC as an external output (e.g., to synchronize a LiDAR or host controller), then a physically exposed MFP pin is required,
